Hi Tweets,

It's been an interesting couple of weeks in the Phinney yard. I wish I could stake out the yard all day but I did manage to observe some species I do not typically see in the yard such as yellow warbler and warbling vireo. Has anyone else noticed a slight shift in bird species and movement - migrants?

Last week an imm yellow warbler, this week an orange-crowned warbler (OCWA, not really unusual for the yard or King County but it's been long time) and today a warbling vireo. And at least one rufous hummingbird daily - usually absent during the summer.

Also present in the yard a very young blackbird. So young (but fledged) still just brown/black I can't tell if it is a brewer's or a red-winged blackbird or a cowbird. And a young or tattered adult downy woodpecker started visiting the old plum and lilac trees and discovered the suet feeder this week as well.

All in all can't complain about the diversity in my tiny city lot.
