Its been a while since I found any decent amount of shorebirds in Clark
County. Based on input from Randy Hill, I visited the south end of Rest
Lake and finally found a good variety of shorebirds between about 6:45-9:45
this morning:

Killdeer: 4
Semipalmated Plover: 2(second and third of Fall for me)
Greater Yellowlegs: 26
Lesser Yellowlegs: 3
Long-billed Dowitcher: 4
Least Sandpiper: 24
Western Sandpiper: 15
Semipalmated Sandpiper: 1(second of Fall for me)
Pectoral Sandpiper: 1 (first of Fall for me)
Solitary Sandpiper: 1(fifth of Fall for me)
Wilson's Snipe: 14

Also one flyby Black-crowned Night-Heron which I rarely see in Clark
County. 40 American White Pelicans flew overhead and the Great Egret
number has climbed to about 25. They've been hanging around the receding
ponds. A flyby Virginia Rail was entertaining!

Keep your eyes and ears skyward!
