Hi Tweeters,

A few interesting birds at Green Lake lately have prompted me to compose a
report. First, in case some haven't heard, there's been a female Redhead
frequenting the South and West end of the lake. She was at the west side
yesterday and today, near the turtle logs with some Buffleheads. Yesterday
there was a female Greater Scaup in that same area, not present today. Best
bird today (2-20) was a male Wood Duck that flew in and landed close by!
Also Thayer's Gull, possibly Western Gull, Ruddy Duck and Downey
Woodpecker. Lots of singing with Goldfinches, Dark Eyed Juncos, Song
Sparrows, Pacific Wren and Golden Crowned Kinglets.

I had a Common Raven calling at my yard yesterday, and then I believe it
flew to the South. I live only a few blocks from Green Lake, so I thought I
should keep my eyes open for a raven at the lake. I heard what sounded a
good deal like a raven today at the lake, though distant and hard to tell
due to Aurora traffic. The sound was coming from around Woodland Park, and
if it was a bird, it would have had to have been a raven. So if anyone
visits the lake soon, listen for a raven!
