Tweeters,

On the Waterville Plateau, I meant to write that some of the side roads, not streets, were left unplowed. These were lesser roads, as the more significant roads had been plowed, of course. Still, that left most side roads off Road B and Hwy 172 unavailable but for the most venturesome. Conditions regarding weather were better at the north end of the plateau while I was there on Friday. Though traffic was very, very light on Road B and even on Hwy. 172, I did not consider stopping on the road to park and getting out of the car to scope. That would have possibly been ok on those unpaved roads that were plowed, but still a risk if they were not wide.

Terrain in the Okanogan Highlands and on the Plateau was entirely snow-covered. The Highlands had snow-packed roads that were fine. The snow/ice cover of the roads began only 2-3 miles from leaving Tonasket.
