Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 2. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at
On May 28 a PHAINOPEPLA was reported along Colestin Road in southern Jackson
County. A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was photographed May 29 at Toketee Lake in
the Douglas County Cascades. An INDIGO BUNTING was reported during the week
near the Bandon Marsh NWR. Another was near Monmouth May 28.
A large number of NIGHTHAWKS were over Page Springs Campground May 29. That
day one was at Silverton. One was at Little Crater Lake in the Clackamas
County Cascades May 30, and one was at Tigard May 31.
On May 29 a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was at New River south of Bandon. A
SWAINSON¹S HAWK was at the Philomath Sewage Ponds May 25. On May 28 a SAGE
THRASHER was photographed near Eugene. A BLACK SWIFT was near Parkdale May
25. WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS are now back at Ogden Wayside south of Madras.
In Harney County over the weekend was a HOODED WARBLER at Benson Pond, a
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER at Frenchglen, and GRAY-HEADED JUNCOS at Ten Cent
Meadows in the Pueblo Mountains. At Fields were LEAST FLYCATCHER,
BROAD-WINGED HAWK, VEERY, HARRIS¹S SPARROW, MAGNOLIA WARBLER, and
