[Tweeters] Great Horned Owl yard bird!

OK, maybe this is commonplace for some of you, but I am truly jazzed. I was
working away when I heard something of a commotion outside that was not
clearly distinguishable from inside the house. Out on the deck, overlooking
the Kimball Creek Watershed, I heard an owl hooting, then a loud
high-pitched squak in response, the two repeating in turn. Definitely wasn't
a barred owl. I formed the opinion that it might be a Great Horned Owl with
young, and sure enough, confirmed that online. Definitely exactly what I
heard. Wow! My yard has been so quiet lately, in the late-summer doldrums of
birdiness. But I've never had Great Horned Owl as a yardbird, much less with
a young one screeching away. :) Now I can add that to my Barred Owls (many)
and Western Screech-Owl (at one home) as heard yardbirds. Have only actually
seen the Barred. It was way too dark tonight with the cloud cover to attempt
a sighting, although the young one sounded very close by. Yay!
