The first Parasitic Jaeger sighting on the Edmonds waterfront was August 21st, not August 24th.

I did see a fly-by of three drake White-winged Scoters this morning. After reviewing my photos, I am not certain that the two birds on the water by the pier were that species. I thought they were juvenile White-winged Scoters. They were large, they were nowhere near the flock of Surf Scoters and the shape of the bills seems more like White-winged. However, there is a dab of yellow/orange at the tips of those bills. The white markings on the faces seemed more like White-winged than Surf. I can not detect white on the wings in my photos and I do not have a firm recollection of noting the white wings in flight. There are two photos, one of each bird, here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/14908898@N08/ <https://www.flickr.com/photos/14908898@N08/> . If you can point to the field marks that determine which species these belong to, please email me privately. Thanks.
