Hey Tweets...I'm slow to post this...sorry. Three of us went looking for
ruffs at Oyhut and found two immature birds. They were with 6 or 7
Greater Yellowlegs and a Pacific Golden Plover at first, on the
western-most pond but on the Tonquin side of the creek. An adult
peregrine flushed all the birds but they landed on the northern edge of
the main pond...right off the Tonquin entrance...and closer to us. They
were in the company of 1 Marbled Godwit and several dowitchers at that
point.

We also found at least 2 Lapland Longspurs among the plentiful Savannah
Sparrows, American Pipits, and Song Sparrows. Judging from the leaps
into the air, all were enjoying the grasshoppers.

After we left one of our party headed over to the STP and found what she
believes were 2 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers...so they may still be hanging
around.
