Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

A RED-THROATED PIPIT is now being seen and photographed at Fern Ridge

Island. A possible EASTERN YELLOW WAGTAIL was reported September 10 at the
South Jetty of the Columbia River. A female BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER is now at
Malheur NWR Headquarters. Two BROAD-WINGED HAWKS are now on the refuge; one
at Benson Pond and the other near Frenchglen.

The first wave of CACKLING GEESE arrived in the Willamette Valley during the
week. RED-BREAST NUTHATCHES are now swarming into the state.

LAPLAND LONGSPURS were found during the week at Rock Creek in Lane County
and at the South Jetty of the Columbia River. On September 10 a winter
plumaged HARRIS¹S SPARROW visited a feeder north of Florence. A movement of
RED PHALAROPES was noted September 13 off Boiler Bay. On September 15 an
early WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was in Astoria.

A PARASITIC JAEGER was seen September 13 along the Columbia River near
Ridgefield. On September 10 three COMMON TERNS were at the Fernhill
Wetlands. 51 WHITE PELICANS were there September 15. Three COMMON TERNS were
in Salem September 16. A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was seen September 12 at Fern
Ridge Reservoir. Two NIGHTHAWKS were over Eugene September 14. That day a
BOHEMIAN WAXWING was photographed at Melrose, west of Roseburg.

That¹s it for this week.
