We had a strong thunderstorm today in Gardiner in the afternoon and I
measured more than an inch of rain. The bird fallout was terrific for my
yard after the storm. The trees were full of birds and it was hard to
catch all of them. There were Swainson's Thrush and Western Tanager as well
as Black-throated Gray (at least a dozen), Orange-crowned,
Yellow-rumped, Wilson's, and Townsend's Warbler. The Gardiner Beach Lagoon
had Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Least and Western Sandpiper, Wilson's
Snipe and many Killdeer.
