[Tweeters] White-winged Dove - NO

Hello Tweets,

I got to the WWDO spot (459 Edmonds Ct NE) at about 10:15 AM. Three other birders were there with me. I saw two Vaux's Swifts, a fledgling Junco, and a flock of Red Crossbills; I heard a Warbling Vireo in nearby trees, and a Western Tanager singing somewhere in the neighborhood. Though there was an amazing number of Band-tailed Pigeons, none of them were White-winged as far as anyone could tell.

The other birders left at 10:30, and up until just now, I was there chatting with Charles Desilets (who had been waiting since 8:30 AM ). A grayish silhouette of a pigeon-sized bird flying quickly behind the house gave brief excitement, as did a white-splotched Rock Pigeon flying overhead with two others. Alas, none were visitors from the Southwest.

There were still lots of Band-taileds around when I left at 11:20, (during which time I was, by the way, attempting to dislodge my brand-new paper airplane from the lower needles of a pine tree. So much pollen!).

Also, the feeder is NOT visible from the park; there are houses and trees in the way.

Good birding (and good luck if you try), Joshua Glant
