A pretty nice day birding from Sheep Lake in northern Whitman County to
Reardan Audubon Lake in Lincoln County. Here are some of the better birds.

Sheep-Crooked Knee Lakes (Whitman) - Golden Eagle, Virginia Rail, 15
Wilson¹s Phalarope, 8 Red-necked Phalarope, 4 American Avocet, Black Tern,
many Grasshopper Sparrows, Black headed Grosbeak, Nashville Warbler

Sprague STP (Lincoln) ­ 16 American Avocet, 3 Semipalmated Plover, 20
Wilson¹s Phalarope, 1 Red-necked Phalarope, Black Tern

Sprague Lake (Lincoln) - Black headed Grosbeak, 15 Eared Grebes, 2 Horned
Grebes, 7 Western Grebe, 1 CLARK¹S GREBE, 1 CLAY COLORED SPARROW (Lincoln
Boat Launch Ramp), Bullock¹s Oriole, Great horned Owl, Wilson¹s Warbler

Sprague Lake (Adams) Eared, Horned, Western, CLARK¹S (6), RED-NECKED GREBES,
Bonaparte¹s Gulls (8), FRANKLIN¹S GULL (1), MEW GULL (1), WHITE-FACED IBIS
(wet area about .5 mi east of Cow Creek Bridge on Wellsandt Rd), 10 RED
NECKED PHALAROPE, 6 Caspian Terns, 1 FORSTER¹S TERN, 1 Black Tern,
Grasshopper Sparrows

Cow Lake (Adams) - Caspian Terns, many Grasshopper Sparrows, Eared, Horned,
and Western Grebes

Davenport Cemetery (Lincoln)­ 3 Hermit Thrush, 5 Townsend¹s Warblers, 1 Gray
Flycatcher, 1 Dusky Flycatcher, 1 Western Tanager, 1 Black headed Grosbeak,
10 White crowned Sparrows, 2 Lincoln¹s Sparrows, 1 WHITE ­ THROATED SPARROW
(probably lingering bird originally found by Jon Isacoff).

Reardan Audubon Lake (Lincoln) - 20 Wilson¹s Phalarope, 1 Solitary
Sandpiper, 1 Western Sandpiper, 1 Least Sandpiper.

110 species. Pretty birdy day.
