[Tweeters] Everett Whimbrels, etc.

I spent a couple hours in Everett this morning trying to fill out my county
year list a bit. I was somewhat surprised to find eight Whimbrels at North
View Park (basically a parking lot just north of the boat launch and
marina). I think we're still at the very tail end up migration for this
species, but a flock was present throughout June in 2012 and may have bred
there. If anyone happens to be in that area at low tides it may be worth
stopping by to see if they stick around.
There were good numbers of Purple Martins in the area as well.
A pair of Eastern Kingbirds were near Spencer Island. I hadn't realized
this spot hadn't been mentioned much on Tweeters, but EAKI's have bred here
since at least 2012, I believe. The "easy" way to see them, from my
experience, is to park at the Everett Sewer Treatment Plant/Spencer Island
gravel lot and walk down the gravel road towards Spencer Island. Just
before you cross the bridge onto Spencer Island proper, take a right onto
the paved walking path. The birds are typically found on your right (west)
within one or two hundred yards.
