With visions of migrating shorebirds providing the impetus I visited Eide Road and Wylie Slough midday today.
At Eide Road the easternmost pond was completely dry. The larger western pond had good water and mud but few birds: 2 Greater and 1 Lesser Yellowlegs and 3 Long Billed Dowitchers. No peeps at all. 4 Killdeer flybys. No other birds of note either.
Wylie Slough also had both Greater (3) and Lesser (1) Yellowlegs and maybe 20 peeps. A couple of Least for sure and some Western for sure but mostly not able to ID. Had hoped for Stilt or Pec or Bairds...none.
All in all pretty quiet.
