On Tuesday of this week I found four unusual geese at Coon Point on
Sauvie Island. Among the thousands of Cacklers feeding in the field,
one very light colored goose stood out. I'm guessing it is leucistic.
I also saw what I thought at the time was a Greater-white Fronted Goose.
I was more interested in the light colored goose and didn't give it
much thought until another birder showed up and was very interested in
the GWFG. While trying to relocate it, we noticed it was probably a
hybrid, and found another probable hybrid. My best guess is Cackler x
GWFG hybrid, but I would be interested in other opinions. This morning,
while going through my photos, I discovered another unusual Cackler, one
with a lot of white mottling on its neck and the top of its head. There
were also 4 Duskys with red neck collars and metal leg bands.

On Wednesday I stopped at the Nestucca Bay NWR to see the Tundra
Bean-Goose. A recent eBird list said it was just inside the entrance,
and so it was, grazing with a small flock of Cacklers.
