A lovely surprise while out looking at the Fobes Road wetland area: a
peregrine falcon and a red-tailed hawk did a brief aerial interchange with
the hawk leaving and the falcon sitting on a cross arm of the large
transmission structure. The hawk cam back along the shoreline and settled
into a near by tree. The falcon flew up and over the tree and out into the
marsh to hunt wounded waterfowl. The hawk took note and retreated more
inland. Beautiful to see the aerial abilities of both birds.

And swans are now using the western most wetland area of Fobes wetlands
(Home Acres Road and 60th just south of the Ebey Slough crossing. Also
about 450-500 swans are at Carlton Farms off Sunnyside Road just north of
SR2 as you turn toward Lake Stevens off SR2, go left onto Sunnyside and
Carlton Farm is on your left. Go to the parking lot for their events barn.
Some tundras are in the mix.
