[Tweeters] Eide: Another Late Wait - 1/9/15

The one Longear still trying to roost in the brambly bush, did come out on schedule for it's evening activities. Photo ops with this owl were more challenging, but this, for me, was offset by a spectacular sunset and friendly onlookers. However, with people beating a path (literally) into the owl's inner sanctum, occasionally using their "BIG" voices right near the roosting owl and just in general, 'being human', I'm wondering if the owl's patience will soon run out, or sleep deprivation will cause it to look for a new spot. Or maybe it will just ignore us a bit longer and stick around as long as the prey is abundant? Who knows...

It was another very large crowd of people who ignored the weather predictions (often a good idea !) to show up at the Eide spot for the views - the sun, clouds and even the fog that crept in at sunset, made a beautiful setting for the active owls, hawks, swans and more. Here's what I captured of the scenes (including a swanny one from along Marine Dr. that I spotted before getting to Eide).

RFI: do any of you have restaurant recommendations for any of the Stanwood establishments ? preferably not the noisy sports bar type of joint, but a smaller local spot with either an ethnic or varied menu where one can carry on a conversation without earstrain?
