Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

The TUNDRA BEAN GOOSE continues at the Nestucca NWR. An adult BLACK-HEADED
GULL is now being seen at McNary Dam. A PRAIRIE WARBLER is now coming to a
feeder in Astoria. A WHITE-WINGED DOVE is now coming to feeders in Newport.
On December 30 a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was at Cape Arago near Coos Bay.
A female BALTIMORE ORIOLE is now coming to a feeder in Netarts. On January 1
a BEWICK¹S SWAN was at Finley NWR. The Fern Ridge Reservoir SNOWY OWL
continues to be seen.

On the January 3 Coquille Christmas Count a PARASITIC JAEGER and a BARN
SWALLOW were among the 145 species recorded. 152 species were recorded on
the Yaquina Bay Count including a THICK-BILLED MURRE, RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD,
and the Yaquina Head BURROWING OWL. Another RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was noted on
the December 20 Tillamook Count. Up to eight WHITE PELICANS were seen
January 2 on Youngs Bay in Astoria. That day a NASHVILLE WARBLER was seen in
Astoria. The wintering BULLOCK¹S ORIOLE continues at an Astoria feeder.
Another BULLOCK¹S is wintering at a Newport feeder.

On January 6 a TUFTED DUCK was on Wintler Pond in Vancouver. A WHITE-TAILED
KITE is now at Steigerwald NWR near Washougal. The bright GLAUCOUS GULL
continues at Delta Park in North Portland. A TREE SPARROW was photographed
January 6 at the Tualatin NWR. On January 1 a REDPOLL was among a goldfinch
flock near Finley NWR.

On January 7 a male WILSON¹S WARBLER was in Bend. On January 6 an apparent
RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER was photographed in Ontario. The wintering species
usually found in the Wallowa Valley are being seen including flocks of
BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS in Enterprise and Joseph.
