With this latest eBird report of the find of a dead Long-eared Owl (near Port Susan ?), there are plenty of places/directions from which to pick and choose to direct our interest, skills, time, focus, energies, money, and general support right now, in at least these areas in Washington. None of this is pretty, and all is important to the health and welfare of our wildlife and the habitats they are using and require. The situations that have surfaced this week and before, as reported on Tweeters and eBird and shared in individual communications, are only some of the wildlife items and issues that are of concern, but they keep piling up, don't they ? As is said continually, each of us can make a difference, by even a seemingly insignificant act or gesture (middle digits excluded).

And please let us know some details surrounding the LEOW death, if they can be determined - I, for one, will gladly contribute to the WDFW or other group or agency that needs to provide the personpower and funding to perform a necropsy and investigate the matter. Saddening and frustrating... (as is each of the other concerning conditions or situations).

Let's continue to do what we can...
