Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 31. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On December 26 a RED-FLANKED BLUETAIL was photographed near Clackamas. Home
owners do not want to be disturbed so the bird is not viewable. On December
24 a bright male SUMMER TANAGER was seen along Hawthorne Blvd north of Mt.
Tabor Park in Portland. It has not been relocated. The South Beach MOUNTAIN
PLOVER continues to be seen. The YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER at Cheadle Lake in
Lebanon continues to be seen. A possible RUSTY BLACKBIRD was reported
December 24 near Roseburg.

On December 26 a HARRIS¹S SPARROW was at Cape Blanco. At Flores Creek
December 25 were five LAPLAND LONGSPURS. At the nearby blue silo was a SAY¹S
PHOEBE and two PALM WARBLERS. On December 27 four TURKEY VULTURES were in
the Coquille Valley. A LONG-TAILED DUCK was at Florence December 25. Another
is still being seen at Yaquina Bay. On December 26 a VEERY was reported at
Seal Rocks State Park. A GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH Was seen December 29 in

On December 24 a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was on the Willamette River south of
the Broadway Bridge in Portland. That day a SURF SCOTER was at the Koll
Center Wetlands in Beaverton. On December 16 a PRAIRIE FALCON was near
Silverton. One was near Amity December 30. A flock of about 4000 gulls along
Peoria Road southeast of Corvallis contained an imm. GLAUCOUS GULL. A
HARRIS¹S SPARROW continues to be seen at a feeder in Grants Pass. A flock of
about 20 WHITE PELICANS were seen during the week at Emigrant Lake near

On December 25 a large blackbird flock along Barnes Road east of Prineville
contained many TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS and about 75 COWBIRDS. A flock of about
250 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES was seen December 27 along Golf Course Road
near Enterprise.
