Hello Tweets,

I had a short but sweet bird sighting this morning. Driving over the I-90 bridge between Mercer Island and Bellevue, I was reminded of the PEFA pair that were reported to have nested under the bridge girders in previous years. With this in mind, I scanned the light posts, and - there! A falcon perched atop a metal lamp, scanning the highway. This is actually only the second Peregrine Falcon I've come across in my birding career (I'm a young birder, after all), and the only other one came perched on a lamppost on the 520 bridge! There must be something special about PEFAs and light posts, at least in my experience...

Anyways, in the glimpse that I was able to get (from the passenger seat, of course), I saw the blue back and barred, dark underparts with an unmarked, tan breast.

Beautiful bird! I'd like to see them more often.

Good birding, Joshua Glant
