I agree with Doug. I was there as well and it was crowded and people were not watching where they were stepping in the flowers and in the flower beds as well as make a path in the front yard.

I urge everyone who goes there to be very careful and respect their yard and opportunity to see this a very special bird.

I really appreciate their hospitality as well. WE all need very thankful by them allowing everyone to enter their property. It would be a shame if a few inconsiderate birders cause others to lose the right to see this great bird.

I was at the house today from about 8:45 till 10:45. The BTBW was seen off and on from about 9:30 until 10:15am. It spend much of the time in the neighboring Cherry trees. For a brief time it did come down low in to the yard and perched by the near the feeder and then landed on the suet feeder area. Good views were had by those there.

A note about the location and situation. This is a small back yard. At one point there were 14 people there which is a bit tight back there. To walk to the back yard you have to walk across their front lawn. With the recent rain and the number of people there is a bit of evidence of the traffic. Also, because the back yard was crowded this morning a couple plants did get stepped on. A couple folks were reminding others that were are guests and really need to be careful. It is incredibly nice for these folks to open up their yard to all of us complete strangers. As individuals one way to show our gratitude is to perhaps bring some seed or suet for the family. I’m sure there are other ways to show gratitude too. I know I really appreciate their hospitality.

Happy birding!
