I finally got to Neah Bay yesterday and birded 8:30am to 5:00pm. I saw three Red-necked Phalaropes on the inside of the jetty in the northwest corner of the bay and probably miss identified a small group of dark breasted lesser Canada Geese as hopeful duskys in Waatch Valley. Unfortunately other then that nothing rare. Perhaps the cold front motivated them to move south or onward. The locals probably enjoyed me walking the beachside looking for the Brambling in 30 degrees with 15 plus knot wind. The Waatch Valley was just as windy and although I was in the same area as where the Cattle Egret was last reported 11/11, I could not find. Multiple checks everywhere. The Fish Hatchery and Cape Flattery made for nice stops out of the wind.
Always a fun adventure, thanks for the posts.
