I was thrilled yesterday (Saturday 1/18/14) to have crows announce the presence of a Peregrine Falcon in Lincoln Park. It was perched near the top of a very tall, scraggly conifer a few meters east of the bluff trail, south of the compost heaps in the north part of the park. The crows harassed it for a while, then appeared to lose interest, eventually flying off. The falcon stretched its tail and wings quite a bit, preened, and cleaned its talons; some blood appeared to remain on its lower belly feathers. It very nicely faced into the sun for quite a while (allowing for pretty good photographic conditions) before turning around to face north.
Photos, along with some falcon-inspired reflections, are on my website, naturalpresence.wordpress.com. If you'd rather have the photos without the reflections, they're on my Flickr site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/trileigh/.
