Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 9. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

A female KING EIDER is now being seen off the NW 68th. Street Overlook in
Newport. A BROWN THRASHER is now In Coquille. The Yoncalla RUSTY BLACKBIRD,
Coos Bay PAINTED BUNTING, and the Ankeny NWR YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER are
still being seen.

On January 8 a LESSER YELLOWLEGS was with four GREATER YELLOWLEGS at the
Eastside Boat Ramp on Coos Bay. On December 30 four BARN SWALLOWS were at
Lincoln City.

On January 7 a SNOWY EGRET was on Sauvie Island. Two ŒBLUE¹ SNOW GEESE are
now being reported about Vancouver Lake. On January 4 five TRUMPETER SWANS
were along Airport Way near the Portland Airport. There are now a male
BARROW¹S GOLDENEYE and several COMMON GOLDENEYES off Hayden Island in North
Portland. A RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was seen January 2 off Broughton Beach
near the Portland Airport. A BARN SWALLOW was near the I205 bridge that day.
On January 4 one was along Elrod Road in North Portland. The TRICOLORED
BLACKBIRD continues to be seen in McMinnville.

Up to 45 TRUMPETER SWANS are now in the Airlie flock west of Monmouth. On
January 7 a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was with a large flock of PIPITS and HORNED
LARKS along Smith Road near Halsey. A possible MCCOWN¹S LONGSPUR may also be
with the flock. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was seen January 7 near Brownsville. On
January 6 three TREE SWALLOWS were at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On January 4 a
NIGHTHAWK was flushed on Mt. Pisgah east of Eugene.

On January 8 a SAGE THRASHER was seen near Powell Butte.
