Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday December 24. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The TUNDRA BEAN GOOSE continues at the Nestucca NWR near Pacific City. On
December 20 a CATTLE EGRET was found along Curry Road near Roseburg. The
SNOWY OWL continues at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

A major die-off of CASSIN¹S AUKLETS was reported during the week on Oregon
beaches. Among the dead birds on Clatsop Beach December 21 were two dead
SCRIPPS¹S MURRELETS. Live and dead RED PHALAROPES were also reported.

On December 21 a LAYSAN ALBATROSS, a MANX-TYPE SHEARWATER, a BROWN BOOBY,
and over 1000 RED PHALAROPES and 1000 KITTIWAKES were off Boiler Bay. The
December 20 Tillamook Christmas County recorded a FORSTER¹S TERN and a
RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD. A RUFOUS was also on the Florence Count. The Astoria
waterfront SNOW BUNTING continues. A COMMON TERN was reported December 21 in
Astoria.

A dark-backed LESSER GOLDFINCH is now coming to a Vancouver feeder. On
December 21 a male WILSON¹S WARBLER was in the North Unit of Sauvie island.
On December 23 two TUNDRA and three TRUMPETER SWANS were at Oaks Bottom in
southeast Portland. Two CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS are now along Reiling Road
north of Forest Grove. At a rain pool at 36th. And Kuebler in Salem December
21 were 60 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 200 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS and 100 DUNLIN. On
December 20 an IBIS was at Fords Pond near Roseburg. Also there that day
were a BARN SWALLOW and two TREE SWALLOWS. The next day 22 TURKEY VULTURES
were near Roseburg. On December 20 a flock of eight GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES
was near Medford.

On December 22 a red-type FOX SPARROW visited a Bend feeder.
