I briefly birded the wooded northern section of Discovery Park this late
morning. Birding seemed very slow at first, but pishing brought in some
fairly large flocks of Yellow-rumped Warblers. Mixed in were several
Black-throated Grays (plus a few on territory), 16+ Orange-crowned, a
Townsend's, a Wilson's, and a Nashville Warbler. Besides the warblers,
highlights were a Warbling and 3 Hutton's vireos, at least 4 Hammond's
Flycatchers, and at least 9 Hermit Thrushes. Turned out to be a very nice
visit. Cheers and good birding,
