Tweeters,

All,

It was an enjoyable day of birding from my Battle Ground, Clark County yard
today highlighted by a decent vulture/raptor migration:

Turkey Vulture - 24 (largest flock - 5, smaller "flocks" throughout the day)
Red-tailed Hawk - 4 (I believe these were migrants - individuals circling
up and then streaming north - difficult to tell since I have at least 4
nesting pairs with apparent territories visible from the yard and sometimes
they circle upward and then north and then.....south before descending
again)
Osprey - 3
Merlin - 1 (FOY)
Cooper's Hawk - 1 (FOY)
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1 (FOY)
Bald Eagle - 2

Other birds:

Orange-crowned Warbler - 1 (FOY)
Common Yellowthroat - 1 (FOY)
Greater Yellowlegs - 1 (FOY)
Lesser Goldfinch - 1
American Goldfinch - 1
Evening Grosbeak - 3 flocks

Keep your eyes and ears skyward.

Jim
