Hi Tweeters & Inland NW Birders -

Yesterday, October 26 2013, the Washington Bird Records Committee met at the Slater Museum for its annual meeting.

59 reports were accepted as valid records
19 reports were not accepted
2 decisions were tabled for further research and consideration.

Two species were added to the official Washington State list: Eastern Wood-Pewee, and McCown's Longspur [as a sight-only record]. In addition, the first reviewed record of "Thick-billed" Fox Sparrow was accepted. The state list now stands at 507 species.

In addition, three species and one sub-species were removed from the WBRC review list, having shown themselves to be regular visitors to the state: Tufted Duck, Broad-winged Hawk, Horned Puffin, and "Interior" Bushtit.

The results of this round's votes can be found at the following link on the WOS website: http://wos.org/wbrcoct2013.html

The revised official state list and the revised list of 'review species' are available as well:
