Hey Tweets!

I made it out to Dash Point State Park this afternoon around 4 and after about a half hour finally got a King County Common Tern. It was just a single bird, flying from King County into Pierce, then passing close enough to the fishing dock for me to get some good views of a nemesis bird I've been running after since 2010 or so. Three Savannah Sparrows were playing on the beach as well.

On the way back home, I passed Smith Brothers Farm on West Valley Highway. The fields are pretty well flooded so I peeked at the fields as I drove by and saw some shorebird activity. I found a good spot to scope it from the north end of the field, and found 4-5 Killdeer and 3-4 Pectoral Sandpipers. I tried to turn a few into Sharp-Tailed Sandpipers, but whenever they turned I was able to see the well-defined line across the breast.

Happy Birding!
