[Tweeters] Admiralty Audubon Field trip to Whidbey Island

The following birds were seen on a trip across Admiralty Inlet from Port Townsend to Whidbey Island and a short visit to Crocket Lake on Whidbey on 11-30-13. In addition to the birds there was a pod of 8-10 Stellar's Sea Lions actively fishing(?) just off Whidbey Island at the ferry terminal west of Keystone Harbor.

Glaucus-winged Gull, Mew Gull, Great Blue Heron, American Crow, Rock Dove, Pelagic and Double-crested Cormorants, Common Goldeneye, Buffleheads, Red-breasted Mergansers, Surf Scoters, Harlequin Ducks, Horned Grebes, Red-necked Grebes, Pigeon Guillemot, Common Murre, Common Loon, Marsh Wren, American Widgeon, Pintail, Mallards, Green-winged Teal, (3-4,000 ducks most too far away to ID on Crocket Lake), large flock of Dunlin, a few Sanderlings, Black-bellied Plover, Marsh Hawk, Golden-crowned, Song and House Sparrows, House Finches. A pair of Bald Eagles were gathering grass for a nest on the bluff above the road leading to the ferry terminal.
