This is a species that I always watch for in our yard with enthusiasm, and I've collected arrival dates for them for quite a few years.

4 Sep 1993
29 Sep 1994
23 Aug 1995
26 Oct 1996
none 1997-98
9 Oct 1998
9 Oct 1999
20 Sep 2000
13 Oct 2001
18 Oct 2002
31 Dec 2003
22 Oct 2004
19 Oct 2005
16 Sep 2006
5 Dec 2007
4 Nov 2008
29 Nov 2009
2 Oct 2010
26 Oct 2011
30 Oct 2012
19 Nov 2013

It's possible some of these are off because I was traveling in one or more of those years, but most are dependable, as I'm watching the yard every day when I'm home. The dates vary greatly, more than those of many migrants, probably because they often represent birds not so much in latitudinal migration but more likely coming down out of the mountains at widely different times depending on local weather conditions.

Also saw first Fox Sparrow in yard yesterday.
