Dear Tweeters,

Keith and Jan Wiggers led a field trip today (25 May 2013) to the Upper Skagit area, going as far as Newhalem. Although we saw quite a few fun birds in the Upper Skagit, the highlight of the day was a breeding-plumage WILLET seen by a few post-trip participants, well to the west. This was at Burmaster Road ponds in the late afternoon and evening. This site is near the east end of the Minkler Flats, on Burmaster Road's north side, near the east end of the road where it hits Hoehn Road. There were close to a dozen Pectoral Sandpipers there, too.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
