Hi Tweets,

nine of us had an enjoyable morning birding Upper Swan Creek in Tacoma and
the undeveloped neighborhood.

Other birders have mentioned this very nice area to me before, which has a
variety of habitats including mature mixed coniferous/deciduous forest, a
gulch with running creek, edge habitat, overgrown weedy previously
developed areas, and warm open shrubby areas.

Highlights included many Pacific-slope Flycatcher, Black-throated Gray
Warbler, great looks at Orange-crowned Warbler, Chipping Sparrow and a
surprise sighting of a Hermit Warbler.

Many Pacific Wren, Dark-eyed Junco, Red Crossbills, Pine Siskins, Evening
Grosbeaks, Purple Finch and nesting Common Raven.

Here is my eBird report, many of us look forward to visiting soon again.

Until next time, good birding!
