Puget Sound Bird Observatory is offering a training to conduct Breeding Bird Surveys and Point Counts. . There is no charge for this class, but if you are
planning to attend, please RSVP to eastersonfamily at msn.com Thursday evening, May 9th so we will have enough materials
for everyone.

I’m more than happy to answer question by email or
phone, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have questions about the
training or about taking on an annual BBS route. Don Norman will be
the trainer for this offering. He is a skilled wildlife biologist and native
plant expert. He has been running BBS routes in Western Washington for a number
of years and will provide a great overview of how to conduct point counts for
monitoring birds and information specific to volunteering for a BBS route.

The BBS class training will be held Friday evening from
6:30 to 9:30 at: SHORELINE FIRE STATION #64719 N. 185th Street

Shoreline, WA 98133

The field training will take place Sunday morning May
12th, likely starting around 8:00 and finish before noon. Final details for the
field training may depend somewhat on weather and available car-pooling and
will be finalized at the Friday evening class.

I hope you are able to come and thank you for
considering being a part of this valuable bird monitoring program.
