Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 13. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls
A singing CANADA WARBLER is now being seen at Calliope Crossing north of
Sisters. On June 6 a female RUFF was at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw
River. A male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was photographed June 8 at Flores Lake.
A BROWN THRASHER was near Newport June 12. A nesting LESSER GOLDFINCH is now
being seen in LaGrande. Territorial NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES were seen during
the week at their traditional nesting sites near Gilchrist.
Another WATERTHRUSH was at Benson Pond at Malheur NWR June 6. At Malheur
Headquarters that day was an OVENBIRD and at Fields were a NORTHERN PARULA
and a CAPE MAY WARBLER. On June 7 a BALTIMORE ORIOLE was along Pike Creek
north of Fields. GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were seen during the week at
Frenchglen and at Malheur Field Station.
On June 9 a TATTLER was on Barview Jetty at Tillamook Bay. An adult BAIRD¹S
SANDPIPER was seen June 11 at the North Jetty of Coos Bay.
On June 10 six EASTERN KINGBIRDS were at the Sandy River Delta. A singing
CASSIN¹S FINCH was at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland June 9. A male BROAD-TAILED
HUMMINGBIRD was reported June 6 coming to a feeder in Cooper Mountain near
Beaverton. Two BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen June 7 at Ankeny NWR. Three
GRAY JAYS were seen June 9 at NW Corvallis. Two NIGHTHAWKS were over Eugene
June 11. A MOCKINGBIRD was near Sisters June 10. On June 11 a FRANKLIN¹S
GULL was at Ochoco Reservoir near Prineville.
