Thanks to Ralph Meier's note and video (see below), about his success Sunday at still finding quite a few raptor young in nests, out flying the skies with each other and being fed, I, too had much success with seeing (and hearing) much of the same when I went to Yakima and Umtanum Canyons Monday.

Ralph's video of the Umtanum Lower Canyon trio of Prairie Falcon young calling for and receiving a prey drop-off at their eyrie -

Some of the specifics of my finds on Monday, can be found in my Flickr photoset: "Prairies & Picturesque" - 6/10/13 - a list of some of the highlights (not all raptors !) is in the summary space with the set. I will put some captions with the pics as soon as I can. Feel free to write me offlist for details you don't find with the photos or with the ID of the wildflower in the first image !

It was a Big Deihl Day pour moi - hoping for a chance or 2 more in the next couple of weeks, to enjoy the pleasures of Central WA, before the heat sets in and all the raptors are scattered.
