Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 6. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On May 31 an EASTERN PHOEBE was photographed at O.C. Brown County Park east
of Roseburg. A BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen May 30 along Hwy 207 ten miles S.
of Hermiston. On June 5 a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was along Hwy 38 east of
Drain. During the week GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were reported from Rickreal,
Smith/Byee Lakes Portland, and N. Curry Co. On May 31 ROSE-BREASTED
GROSBEAKS were reported from NE Salem, Paisley, and near Langlois.

COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen at Sisters May 30, Corvallis May 31, and SW
Portland June 3. On June 2 a BLACK SWIFT was over Washington Park Portland.
A flock was at the N. Spit of Coos Bay June 4. That day a heavy movement of
mostly imm. CALIFORNIA GULLS passed Flores Lake that included a FRANKLIN¹S
GULL. On June 4 late shorebirds south of Florence included 20 WHIMBREL, 2
MARBLED GODWITS, a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, a SANDERLING, a BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVER, and a WANDERING TATTLER. On May 31 a REDSTART and a flock of BLACK
SWIFTS were at Cascade Head.

Birding has slowed in southeast Oregon, but a CATBIRD was at the Sagehen
Rest Stop west of Riley May 30. At Malheur NWR Headquarters during the week
were a TENNESSEE WARBLER, a REDSTART, a CATBIRD, and a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE.
On June 5 a PHILADELPHIA VIREO AND BLACKPOLL were reported at Malheur
Headquarters A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was at Frenchglen June 3. A bright male
SUMMER TANAGER was photographed May 30 at Benson Pond. A BROAD-WINGED HAWK
was reported June 3 at Page Springs CG. On May 31 a BLACK-THROATED BLUE
WARBLER and a REDSTART were at Van Horn Creek south of Fields.
