In the last couple of years these birds have occurred in four or five situations, almost always involving conifers. If you check out their call it is fairly distinctive, so you might hear them flying over. One of the best single places to bird in the park is an extension of the South Parking Lot, which one can enter of Emerson St. Working north from the lot is a long open space called the 500 area,with conifer groves, young alder and plane trees. the Grosbeaks have been seen here several times. Also between there and the Chapel. Good birding
