hi:

i was driving north on west snoqualmie valley rd near sikes lake today (not
too far from 100th ave) and saw a largish, brown raptor on a post near one
of the farms for sale on the west side of the valley. the bird was drying
itself and had its tail spread. the overall appearance was spotted brown
with a blocky body, short head, and a fan tail consisting of alternating
light and dark bands. a person was walking down the road at the same time
and there was no place to pull off. by the time i could get back to the
site, the bird had left, probably in response to foot traffic. i was left
with the strong impression of a northern goshawk. maybe one of the
black-belt real birders might see the same bird in the area over the near
term.

would be cool if one did.

regards,

t
