[Tweeters] Reardan Red Phalarope

Yesterday afternoon I observed a winter plumaged RED PHALAROPE at Reardan Ponds (Reardan, WA) with a flock of approximately 50 juvenile Red-necked Phalaropes. These birds are far out in the water and require a scope to be seen. Other shorebirds present:

Solitary Sandpiper
Lesser Yellowlegs
Least Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Wilson's Snipe

Also an Osprey, which is surprisingly rare at the specific location though they breed along the Spokane River not far away. Some very lousy photos are posted on www.flickr.com/photos/isacoff.
