Heavy rains all through the night subsided for a fairly decent day at the park, although the high winds minimized activity on the lake. The theme for the day could have been nesting and associated behaviors:

2 separate Bushtit nests with final chores
2 female Anna's Hummingbirds preparing their nest sites; another Anna's was way ahead - she already had two babies in the nest, sticking their bills straight up
Bewick's wren bringing nest material to a vine-laden tree trunk
3 American Crow pairs quietly breaking branches and adding to their nest sites
A pair of Brown Creepers sharing food. Same for a pair of Pine Siskins
Several Common Goldeneye doing their neck-stretching maneuvers

Other interesting sights included:
Nearly 300 Mew Gull taking refuge from the wind, foraging on the sports fields
5 Greater White-fronted Geese still hanging out with the Canadas
A lone Northern Pintail heading north very high over the park
Virginia Rail calling from Frog Pond
Band-tailed Pigeon fly over, Promontory Point
2 Red Crossbill and 4 Varied Thrush also on Prom Pt
Lots of singing Yellow-rumped Warblers (one Myrtle)
A Cooper's Hawk flew deep into the shrubs in the wetlands and every passerine in a 200 m radius hopped up to a high perch to observe the action; never saw the Coop reappear.
FOS Brown-headed Cowbird

For day 62 species.
