Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an opportunity that might be of interest. A friend of mine, who is currently a graduate student at CU Boulder and previously at UW-Madison, is organizing a space for graduate students to come together and discuss climate policy.
She’s put together an email list, Discord server, and regular meetings. I’m passing along her welcome email below, which includes even more details. I encourage you to check it out if this sounds like something you'd want to be a part of.
See you at the next Climate reAction meeting,
Anna

Hi all,

I wanted to let you know that a few of us in the Atmospheric Chemistry division at CU Boulder and the Atmospheric and Oceanic Science department at UW-Madison have started a group (called Climate reAction) for climate/earth scientists to have a space where we can talk about climate policy and funding.

Our main goal is to bring together the community of earth and adjacent scientists to inform each other and discuss climate policy and funding through regular meetings, especially during this time where scientific voices need to be heard more than ever. We’re starting to do that by having monthly meetings where we discuss current issues and what we can do about them. We’ll be having our next meeting Thursday, January 22nd (5 pm PT/6 pm MT) - let me know if you’re interested, or sign up for emails here<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScO4YCubOjiPIh6729pn3MMk0HZPOxcXJOHWbm9hlys0mjLLQ/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=107615564873876327327__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!iNvNSuzKJhUrdpxRr4SUbZ-UUHNcNYelk6fsOdn_uprIxfTLBpkgvWMUA2a5txVsCnrlZaMTr_u9vbbJ7oQG2nDk4k4$>. I’d love to see you there, and maybe some other folks from your department!

There’s some more info on our website (climatereaction.org<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://climatereaction.org__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!iNvNSuzKJhUrdpxRr4SUbZ-UUHNcNYelk6fsOdn_uprIxfTLBpkgvWMUA2a5txVsCnrlZaMTr_u9vbbJ7oQGvzLqXOw$>, although we’re still developing it), but there’s resources on there to start learning and taking action. We also have a discord that you can join to stay in the loop: https://discord.gg/kKSYmYdTgv<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://discord.gg/kKSYmYdTgv__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!iNvNSuzKJhUrdpxRr4SUbZ-UUHNcNYelk6fsOdn_uprIxfTLBpkgvWMUA2a5txVsCnrlZaMTr_u9vbbJ7oQGe0fUffc$>.

Hoping to see you all at our next meeting or in the discord!

Best,

Ruby
