We are excited to be gathering at Friday Harbor Labs<https://fhl.uw.edu/> on San Juan Island again this year for our annual Program on Climate Change<https://pcc.uw.edu/> Summer Institute. Registration is now open and will close on July 16th. You will be notified of your registration status, accepted or waitlisted between July 21st and 25th. Please read the below for details on this process.

This year the PCC Summer Institute theme is "Paleoclimate Constraints on Future Climate” and is led by Kyle Armour (ATM S/OCN) and Eric Steig (ESS). Dates are 10-12 September 2025 (Wednesday-Friday).
Details and updates can be found here: https://pcc.uw.edu/events/pcc-summer-institute/. This is an in-person event for members of the UW Climate Change community and invited speakers. We also welcome guests from the Friday Harbor Labs community. All must apply here<https://forms.gle/pKko15eFT1b28Tap6> to participate to ensure sufficient seating and to secure a name tag. Participant housing and food are covered by the PCC.
We hope to be able to accommodate all from the UW PCC interested in participating in this in-person summer institute. However, we are limited by housing space and seating in the seminar room to a total of 75 people. As in past years, once we fill, we will maintain a waitlist.
The registration form<https://forms.gle/pKko15eFT1b28Tap6> <https://forms.gle/pKko15eFT1b28Tap6> will only be open between June 16th and July 16th. You will be notified of your registration status, accepted or waitlisted between July 21st and 25th. This notification will come with a link to a second Google form that includes:
* Invitation and information on how to share a poster at the opening reception on Sept. 10.
* Carpool signup and request for drivers.
* Questions about dietary needs (all food is prepared and served in the dining hall at Friday Harbor Labs)
* Information on housing (all participants and speakers are assigned housing on the campus of Friday Harbor Labs)
The deadline to respond to this second survey will be August 20th. At this point we will release space to anyone on the waitlist and finalize the attendee list, create the carpools, and share final information with FHL.
A special thanks to William Calvin and Katherine Graubard for generously supporting the PCC Summer Institute.
Please contact Miriam at uwpcc at uw.edu with questions or concerns.
