and
colleagues in the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie
Mellon University, I write to extend an invitation to PhD students and
Postdoctoral Fellows at the University of Washington to present their work
on issues related to climate, energy systems, and decision making in a *2-day
workshop on May 13-14, 2025, to be held on the Carnegie Mellon campus in
Pittsburgh, PA*.

Developing effective solutions to problems in climate and energy decision
making often requires the convergence of deep natural science and
engineering analysis with the tools and insights of modern behavioral
social science, and legal and regulatory analysis.

This workshop is open to PhD students and Postdoctoral Fellows (as well as
their faculty) who are working at such an interface.

The workshop will allow selected participants to present their work, attend
faculty-led sessions, meet other young investigators, and exchange ideas on
these complex problems. Some limited resources to cover travel expenses are
available, but in previous years applications have exceeded our ability to
cover expenses. Candidates should not delay their applications.
