Hi all,
We have an exciting community outreach opportunity for you! We have
received a request from the Mayor's Climate Protection Committee in Edmonds
for potential speakers at the Edmonds Climate Action Week (September
21-27). They are still in the early stages of planning, so the theme and
specific time of the presentation(s) is flexible. They are open to hosting
events geared towards a range of audiences in the community (children, high
schoolers, etc.). Here is a brief description from the requestor:
"The mission of the climate protection committee is to advise the city on
how to reduce Edmonds’s climate impact and how to mitigate the impact of
climate change on Edmonds so topics like electrification, grid resilience,
renewables, especially things like home solar, heat pump technology etc as
well as topics like sea level rise, impact of climate change on our local
environment (flora and fauna) would all be interesting topics."
This is a great opportunity for you to engage with our broader community
and practice your science communication skills. If you are interested in
volunteering for this opportunity, please let me know and I can connect you
with the event planners!
Thank you!
