Hi everyone!

P-GraSC is now accepting applications for 2023-2024!

What is P-GraSC?

The PCC Graduate Student Steering Committee (P-GraSC) is a group of ~20
grad students from a diverse group of departments (if you’re interested in
climate research, policy, and conversation, you count as a PCC grad student).
The mission of P-GraSC is to form a coherent and organized graduate student
steering body in the PCC. P-GraSC is committed to representing the values
of the graduate students in the PCC, including amplifying the work and
voices of BIPOC members of the PCC.

Why join P-GraSC?

P-GraSC is an awesome opportunity to get to know graduate students from
departments across the College of the Environment and beyond. Through
P-GraSC, you will get a deeper understanding of the breadth and excellence
of UW research in climate science, policy, engineering, public health, and
more. You learn to organize events and speak with the public and broader
university on issues related to climate change. Overall, you serve as a
face for the graduate students of the PCC.

What is the commitment level?

We are currently seeking nominations for yourself or others to begin a
2-year position on P-GraSC starting this fall. If you have less than 2
years left and want to get involved, 1-year placements are perfectly fine —
go ahead and nominate yourself!

P-GraSC meets once per quarter and sub-committees meet once per month on
average. You can do as much or as little work as you’d like: this year,
P-GraSC activities included project-based collaboration with community
organizations through ACORN Projects, Graduate Student Seminars, and the
Spring Seminar Series.

How do I apply?

Please send in your application (1-3 sentences on why interested) by
filling out this google form by October 14th:

Thank you! Please email me or any other P-GraSC students (listed below) if
you have any questions!
