*Abstract: *Changes in climate, such as warming and sea ice loss, affect
the wellbeing of Arctic Indigenous communities because of their
subsistence-based lifeways that depend on the land and ocean in remote
coastal locations. This talk will focus on sea ice freeze at Kivalina,
Alaska, discussing mechanisms, variability, and predictability based on the
last forty years of satellite data.
