Dear PCC folks,

The QRC and ESS have two visitors at the end of the quarter, who will gives
talks on Greenland ice sheet history, which should be of broad interest.

Jason Briner and Elizabeth Thomas are both at the University of Buffalo.

Thursday, March 14th, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Johnson 175 (ESS Colloquium)
*Jason Briner, The response of the Greenland Ice Sheet to Holocene climate
Prof. Briner's talk will highlight work from the multi-institution project
he leads, including several folks at UW, on the history and climate
response of the Greenland ice sheet.

Friday, March 15th, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Johnson 111 (QRC special seminar)
*Elizabeth Thomas, Looking back to Greenland’s future: Climate dynamics and
ice sheet response during Holocene abrupt climate change*
Prof. Thomas uses an innovative combination of compound-specific isotope
analysis and more traditional paleoclimate proxies from lake sediments to
inform her work on the history of the Greenland ice sheet.

Let Eric Steig (steig at uw.edu) know if you'd like a chance to meet with
either of these visitors.
