Dear members of the University of Washington College of the Environment,

I’m reaching out to you in my role as the Washington State Insurance
Commissioner’s senior climate policy advisor. (In the past you have heard
from me in my as an advisory board member to the UW Scandinavian Studies
Department, working on the REV Ocean project with Norway.)

As you’ll see below, WA Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler is hosting a
Climate Resilience Summit October 31 and November 1. Dr. Amy Snover (on
this email) is among the UW speakers; Drs. Nick Bond and Himanshu Grover
and Mr. William Steele of UW are also on the agenda, as are representatives
of the insurance industry and U.S. Representative Denny Heck.

Commissioner Kreidler is extending scholarships to students (undergrad and
grad) and faculty involved with UW’s College of the Environment. I would
be most grateful if you could circulate new of this opportunity to people
who might be interested. Information on how to register for a scholarship
is included below. (The number of scholarships is limited and will be
awarded on a first come first served basis.)

Below you will find further information about the Summit.

Thank you in advance!

All the best, Jay

*Join Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler at the 2018 Climate Resilience
Summit in SeaTac, Washington, at the Cedarbrook Lodge.*

Washington state is playing a major role in the global resilience effort as
we work to study, prevent and prepare for the challenges caused by climate
change. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the climate
conversation, both locally and nationally.

At the Resilience Summit, you will learn from government and industry
leaders in climate change and resilience, including Commissioner Kreidler,
U.S. Representative Denny Heck, Tribal leaders and the University of
Washington. You will take away knowledge and tools to prepare you and your
organization to bring the conversation to your own community.
